Auto login

Featured Replies

When we power up the machine, is there a way to auto login so that we do not need to type:

Root <enter>

“ourPassword” <enter>

??

I looked on the packages wiki and was not able to find anything.  I didn't know if this was a possibility or not.  Thanks for all the help in advance!  You guys are great.

I am assuming you mean the login when you telnet/ssh into the box.  Are you telnet-ing to the box or ssh-ing in?

I would assume ssh?

After powering up we type

root - enter

"password" - enter

at the command prompt and then it starts up.....

Unless you have a BIOS password or something set then there is no need to enter a login name and password there for unRAID to be up and running.  I boot my production server without a monitor attached and no keyboard 99% of the time.  My test server has a monitor and keyboard but i still do not log into the machine for it to boot up and be usable.

Prostuff is correct, Unraid is already running when the prompt comes up, that is just there for to access it if you need to, which isn't that often for most.  Not to actually start the server.
