Drives not showing up

Featured Replies

I just recently moved my unraid installation from a desktop pc with external storage to a rack mounted server with the same external storage.  The server however has 4 900gb hard drives in it that I'd like to use.  My external storage has 8 4tb drives. The internal drive are SAS and the External are SATA.

Unraid seems to see only a couple of the internal drives. but it won't let me add them to the array.  Is there a way around this issue?  I'm attaching my diagnostic logs.

Apparently there's a problem with the HP controller:

Jun 5 08:45:56 nas2 kernel: hpsa 0000:03:00.0: Controller lockup detected: 0xffff0000 after 30
Jun 5 08:45:56 nas2 kernel: hpsa 0000:03:00.0: Telling controller to do a CHKPT
Jun 5 08:45:56 nas2 kernel: hpsa 0000:03:00.0: failed 0 commands in fail_all

There were issues with this controller and v6.7rcs, but I believe it should work correctly on final, maybe try a different slot and/or firmware update if available.

Also, disk3 is failing.

Disk 3 on the internal storage, or the external?

It's connect to a controller with a port multiplier, which by the way is strongly discouraged, so I assume external, don't you know by looking at which disk is disk3?
