Removed one too many cache drives. Cache pool now unmountable.

Featured Replies

I had three cache drives in a pool. One of the SSDs failed and I removed it. btrfs then reconstructed the lost disk. Then there were two disks in the cache pool. Everything was good up until this point.

I ordered two new SSDs, one to replace the failed SSD and one to upgrade another SSD. I was stupid and I added both these drives at the same time while removing one of the two original SSDs. Obviously the cache pool was then not mountable.

My questions is, since I have not altered the data on the two original cache drives, how can I make unraid recognize the two original cache drives? Do I use the "New Config" tool?

Well I took a leap and tried using the "New Config" tool. It worked as expected and I was able to recover the previous btrfs cache pool. Hooray!
