October 22, 201015 yr I'm currently using a cache drive because I have a 320 GB HDD which is (for me) too small to be useful for anything else and I also (currently) have a spare HDD slot. My question is this. If I wanted too, I could presumably transfer a BD folder to my "movies" user share (effectively the cache disc) from a PC, while streaming a BD from the same user share (say disc 1) to my media player. Yes or No? I have GB capable netork from the PC to the Unraid server but only 10/100 to the media player. If no, then is that due to the network? If yes, then what would happen if I tried this without the cache disc? i.e. stream a Blu Ray movie to my media player, and write another from my PC to the same disc concurrently.
October 25, 201015 yr Yes, that should work just fine. I'm fairly sure that it would work without the cache drive as well, but you would just have to try it to be certain. The 10/100 media player should be fast enough to stream even BD.
