jpowell8672
All my twelve drives are same exact matching drives but two have write cache disabled. I did not disable write cache on them. I tried "hdparm -W 1 /dev/sdx" It say's setting to 1 enabled but when I check again they both still have write cache disabled. I upgraded from 6.7 to 6.7.1.-rc2 with newer different kernel and it is still the same. They are all plugged into same two controllers that all drives are connected. Moving the drives to different ports does not change anything. The difference in speed with write cache disbled is more than 2x loss in speed. Any ideas why and how to remedy this problem appreciated, thanks. Quote Link to comment
Squid
A firmware upgrade on the drives may help. Otherwise, you would have to talk to the manufacturer of the drive about it. Nothing unRaid can do about it. But, it's not a problem per se. You will merely get better performance out of them. Quote Link to comment
Abzstrak
two of my 6 do the same thing, just enable it manually in the go file... no big deal. my boot usb is sda. The next 6 are my data drives. therefore I put this line in the go file hdparm -W 1 /dev/sd[b,c,d,e,f,g] Quote Link to comment
