Write cache disabled on two drives out of twelve

Recommended Posts

All my twelve drives are same exact matching drives but two have write cache disabled. I did not disable write cache on them. I tried "hdparm -W 1 /dev/sdx" It say's setting to 1 enabled but when I check again they both still have write cache disabled. I upgraded from 6.7 to 6.7.1.-rc2 with newer different kernel and it is still the same. They are all plugged into same two controllers that all drives are connected. Moving the drives to different ports does not change anything. The difference in speed with write cache disbled is more than 2x loss in speed. Any ideas why and how to remedy this problem appreciated, thanks.
