Missing /iso /domain and /system shares

Featured Replies

I want to try adding a Windows VM to my server, but I don't have any of these shares installed:

/iso

/domain

/system

I read those are supposed to be installed automatically by Unraid, but I have never had them.  Is there anything "special" about the settings for each, or can I just add them myself with default settings.

Running 6.7.0

There is nothing special about them to my knowledge, they aren't necessary, you can point the VM settings to any valid location accessible to the machine, even an unassigned device if you wish.

However... if you wish to make your system conform to the defaults, there is no harm in setting them up yourself. I think the defaults are set to cache: prefer, and share export to NO. Dunno what the default allocations and split levels are, but typically it wouldn't matter much anyway since it's just a few files 1 or 2 folders deep.
