My Opinion of Unraid / General Discussion

Featured Replies

Hi everybody im a oldschool disabled it tech and not up to par on a lot of the new stuff. Ive tried Freenas, Xigmanas, openmediavault (both cpu's), and others. Unraid is it!, It seem to be just as stable and expandable as any if not more and aspecially when it comes to hardware it is the most flexible os ive ever seen. I love the way it strait install and the way the flash drive works. Using dockers as apps keeps everything nice and clean from the os and none of the others i tried had apps store Thanks Squid. The array was the bite and the apps store sunk the hook. I love this OS! Didnt know Unraid was an os or you could do an arry with diffrent size disk when i started this nas os journey i wanted a os that ran arry for plex etc... and run a win10 vm for a daily driver. Remote to i thought it would be cool to gpu pass through but thought that was dream.

I Think Unraid should be use like firmware and have its one chipset and be built into a wicked awesome motherboard!

I think some of the plugins should be built in but not having them in there keeps the os nice and clean tho. Some of them tho i would thing everybody uses and just from what i seen this has happened. Maybe have like a Minimal and a full or something.

Not realy sure what else to say I think unraid is really awesome and wil be purchasing a basic license and that's just cause i broke right now ill up grade later, right now only using 3 disks anywase.

O something I want to throw in my dump a** didn't realize USB devices could be added to the array and I selected a wrong disk. It was an ntfs and I'm assuming was quick formated to unraids xfs set as parity but parity sync was stopped right then. Everybody here deals with disk thought I would get y'alls opinion before I spent the money or other wise, haven't found a free version that looks good, I haven't touched the drive I don't want to screw this up. I normally very careful that why I've never had to recover a partition. Most of its media that can be redownloaded but there are a few little file id like to get.

Just a quick question please knowbody get upset but I read some were the btrfs file system has some sort of error in it and it said so it the wiki but I couldn't find anything about an error on the wiki?
