neitakk
First of all I want to thank you for this great forum. Im having a strange issue I cannot figure out how to fix. I've read this thread, but the solution doesn't work for me: When I boot into OS GUI mode (second boot option), everything loads as normal, but it ends with a black screen and blinking cursor on my connected monitor. The server is online, and the web GUI is available. My hardware: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/126143/intel-nuc-kit-nuc8i7hvk.html Normally I don't need the OS GUI mode, but I'm going to setup rclone to connect to Google Drive, and in the SpaceinvardOne tutorial there's a part where you need to access the OS GUI mode. Any suggestions? Quote Link to comment
testdasi
The OS GUI is no different from the Web GUI so even with this issue, I don't think it should make any difference. As for the console, there is always Putty to SSH into the server. Quote Link to comment
neitakk
I use SSH to setup the clone, but according to SpaceinvaderOne you can't access the authorization URL for Google Drive (http://127.0.0.1.53682/auth) in the Web GUI, and as an exception you need to go to the OS GUI mode to access it. So I'm stuck... Edit: I will try to install rclone on another PC, and see if I can get through the rclone authorization Edited June 24, 2019 by neitakk Quote Link to comment

In the rclone yes/no choice right BEFORE it gives you the 127.0.0.1 url, choose No. It will then give you a long URL which you can copy from SSH (In Putty, just use your mouse to select the text, it will be copied automatically). Paste that to your browser (which you have signed in to the corresponding google account), click on the corresponding user and go through the screens. Google will then give you an authorisation string which you then copy and paste back to the SSH Putty. Quote Link to comment
neitakk
Thank you. That did it, and the video had some misinformation - maybe because its old. As for the OS GUI not showing up I guess its because I boot with UEFI. But no problem since I don't need it. Thank you again. Quote Link to comment
