I can not restart my virtual machine from windows for updates

Featured Replies

I have a virtual machine Windows 10, and when iol must restart for updates the machine crashes and I have to restart the server, I wish I could restart the vm from the OS

Boot into GUI mode for an interactive GUI for you to start your VM.

From the console, type the below (replace [VM] with your VM name)

virsh start [VM]

(I assume you mean "restart" as in a start because you said your VM crashes so technically it's no longer started so can't be restarted but it can be re-started 😅)

sorry I did not misunderstand, I meant that I could not reboot from the OS of the VM automatically (on windows), but thanks for the tip

That's certainly not normal. I restart my VM all the times. Sometimes Windows Update restarts it without me doing anything.
