Unable to format NVME drive

I have installed an NVME drive via an adapter and I'm unable to format it from the GUI.

 

It says its formatting but never completes.

    It did eventually, but it seems to be causing one of the CPU threads to hit 100% when I'm trying to interact with it, for example in disk speed when im scanning controllers, its stuck one of my threads to 100% :(

     

    The whole GUI and dockers are lagging since installing it and there is no data on it as yet.
