I recently pulled the trigger on a decent-ish deal on a 2920x and a gigabyte x399 aorus pro motherboard to upgrade my unraid build to. It's currently a dual e5-2670 system. Will I be able to drop in the new hardware without any issue? I expect the biggest problem I'll run in to is re-pinning the few CPU cores I had set aside for VM use. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Shameless plug: have a look at my build. Lots of tips in there.

In terms of issue, it very much depends on what existing hardware you have. Your biggest problem is to get the right IOMMU group for your VM use. Core pinning is a simple matter once you figured out which core is on which node, which is very easy.
