Inconsistant transfer speed

Hi all,

Very happy with unraid so far.

It started all great, nice constant write speeds of 70megs a second. This slowly started dropping over a few months to the point of very slow and inconsistent.

A typical example is in the picture:

Mountains and valleys make an interesting landscape...

 

 

This is writing directly to the array.

 

Am I missing some simple setting?
Advice would be welcome, thanks in advance.
