NVME Cache with XFS Raid 1?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have bought 2x EVO 970 Plus 1 TB for a good price.

I would like to use those for cache instead of my older EVO 850 500GB, which are currently in BTRFS pool.

I use the cache for docker, downloads and VM (which I would like to use as my main PC in future).

However this article reveals quiet poor performance for NVME drives with BTRFS.

Also the people on Unraid forums report quiet often slow cache performance with NVME.

Since I don´t really use and need the BTRFS features and not plan to expand my cache, I would happy with plain XFS Raid 1 cache setup.

Would this be somehow possible?

Your help is really appreciated.
