Moving individual VMs to array

Featured Replies

Hi

I have multiple VMs fighting for space on my cache drive.

most of the VMs are mostly idle and do not need the SSD performance provided by the cache as I only need 3-4 with such performance.

is there a way to move individual VMs from the cache to the array since all of them reside in \domains directory?

Krusader app in docker

Personally, I would move them manually like 1812 implied, but I know pretty much what I'm doing when it comes to command line and manipulating stuff like that.

However, in theory you could do something like this.

Set the domains share to cache: yes instead of prefer. Make sure all the VM's that you want to remain on the cache drive are up and running, so the vdisk files are in use and can't be moved. Make sure all the VM's you want moved are stopped. Run the mover, wait for it to complete. After it completes, change the domains share to cache: only. With that setting, any new VM's will be created on the cache, and the mover won't attempt any more moves on the domains share. If you want new VM's to be created on the array instead, then use cache: no.
