I build my first unraid box last week using 4.5.6. I had it up and running using the free version on 3 disk to test it. I paid for the pro and added some drives. While I began to transfer data I restarted the unraid so I could add a new drive. After I rebooted  I couldnt find my unraid on my network. I ran ifconfig and was getting the 127.0.0.1 instead of the 10.0.1.3 my Apple Airport was giving it. I tried a few different things with my Apple Airport and no luck. I then checked all the connections and no luck. I then reformatted the USB and started over and nothing. I reinstalled 4.5.6 and had no luck. I then tried 4.5.4 and had no luck. I thought maybe my onboard ethernet port stopped working. The yellow light comes on but the green activity light never comes on. I booted Ununtu off a CD to see if I could use the ethernet port and the port works. I dont know what to anymore. I figured reformatting the USB and reinstalling the unraid would work, but it didnt. I am at a loss because I had it working at one point and it stopped. Any ideas? I'd really appreciate it. I have alot of money invested so far, id hate to not get unraid working. THANKS!!

What if you statically assign it the 10.0.1.3 address instead of using DHCP , does it work then?

From unRAID perspective, there is no workable Ethernet link. BTW the driver used by unRAID is quite unusual, what kind of motherboard you are using?

Well I solved the problem. I finally just took out the Ethernet card and used the onboard card. Everything is back to working. I am not sure why it caused the onboard the stop working but it is up and running. I also assigned it a static ip and it has been working perfectly.

While troubleshooting I installed version 4.5.4 do I need to worry about upgrading to 4.5.6? Everything is working so I am hesitant to start messing with everything lol THANKS

upgrading to 4.5.6 is a matter of copying the bzroot and bzimage over to the flash drive and restarting the machine.  I would go ahead and upgrade when you get a chance.

Wow that doesn't seem to bad. For some reason I thought it was complicated. I'll give it a shot
