Cache Disk for Reads and Writes

Featured Replies

I have a few uses cases where it would be ideal to be able to maintain files on a read/write ssd, but then also have those files synchronized with the array. One example is isos. I have a number of isos that I use to startup VMs. These large files benefit from writing to the cache drive, but after the mover moves them to the main array, I am no longer reading from the ssd when it gets mounted into the VM (post mover script run). Ideally, there would be a "copier" along with the "mover" so I could select to preserve the cache written files of a specific share on my cache ssd, then daily synchronize that share with the main array/parity for safe keeping.

Has anyone else done something similar? Is there a different way to approach this problem besides the cache feature?

Thanks!
