Device is disabled what can i do ?

Hi all

 

Just notice my unraid was super slow. Try to reboot and now one of my hdd is in device is disabled state.

 

I changed the cable and power and nothing

 

is my hdd dead ?

Once a drive is disabled, nothing you do will re-enable it unless you rebuild the drive.  The SMART looks ok, so probably it was a crappy connection on the drive (btw, your HYNIX cache drive also has this same problem)

 

  1. Stop the array
  2. Set disk 1 to no device
  3. Start the array
  4. Stop the array
  5. Set disk 1 to be the ST8000.....2147
  6. Start the array
  7. The disk will rebuild.
