Are you certain the machine is seeing 2 GB of ram?  At first glance it appears to be a memory issue.  In the bios does it show 2 GB?  At the first boot screen, have you tried running the Memtest application for an extended period (10 hours) of time?

yeah I tried memtest for over 10hours

Yeah in the bios its showing 2GB

could it be something that has to do with your usb's size? what is the size?

i was using 512mb usb drive

i have also tryed a 2gb usb drive as well

both I get the same message :(

There is a zip file that you need to unzip onto the USB that creates the config directory and staeter set of files. Did you do that step?

i think that he did (it is on the screenshots some posts before)

To be able to see the syslinux is on the usb drive you also need to make sure that "Show system files" option is also checked.

How much memory does memtest report?

the memtest report said i av 2gb is that rite?l

I av just tryed the new beta version and that came back the same.

I know you have already done this, but I would try it again just to be sure.

Follow the instructions here.

It sounds to me like you skipped this step:

Step 2 Extract the syslinux.exe executable and copy to a simple directory, for example, c:\.  Then run it by clicking on Start/Run; in the dialog box enter:

c:\syslinux.exe -ma f:

(Instead of c:\ use whatever directory you downloaded syslinux to, and instead of f: use whatever drive letter Windows mounted your Flash on).

The syslinux tool will create a hidden system file named ldlinux.sys on the Flash and make it boot-able.

You have to extract syslinux.exe to your Windows computer and run it from there.

I have tryed two different USB hard drives now and still no different

I have tryed version 4.5 and the beta 5 Still no different

anything  I am missing or I could maybe add to the USB drive

Anyone????

Well, I think the only thing left to try is a different motherboard.  I don't know why yours isn't working, since it is obviously able to boot from the flash drives.  This is definitely an odd problem.

And if you do, try with as many common components. so if you can use the same memory modules, same usb etc as to isolate the problem

Can anyone recemend a motherbaord which is cheapish and the same spec as my old one but will work with UNRAID. So I dont have to change other parts. EG CPU, memory

Here is my spec for my old motherboard http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=&prod_no=214

It is difficult for me to recommend a mobo. if you order it from abroad, it wont be cheap because of the P&P. so if i were you i would look locally for a mobo that  supports your cpu and memory (you dont mention the exact it but obviously something Socket 939 and DDR333/400MHz DDR). i know this does not help but for old mobos the only thing you can do is start looking around locally when you live in places where it costs a lot to post stuff ...
