Pinecone Posted July 10, 2019 Share Posted July 10, 2019 I am trying to setup unRAID, but I am confused with what an Array is and how I should set mine up. My build has two 8TB HDDs installed in it and one 500GB HDD for the operating systems. I want the setup configured so that I have the 500GB Drive partitioned into two partitions, 64GB for one OS with the two 8TB drives attached to it, and a 436GB partition for a Windows OS. How do I configure this setup so I get my resources partitioned in such a way whereas this works as I described above? Thanks in advance for any and all assistance you can provide. Thanks in advance for any and all assistance you can provide. unRAID is run from a flash drive, not a ssd. I would recommend you read some guides and watch a few videos to get familiar with how it works and how you can set it up as you have several options. It has a very good overview of what Unraid is and how it works: https://wiki.unraid.net/index.php/UnRAID_Manual_6#What_is_unRAID.3F As I read your post, I have the feeling that you are looking at some sort of a dual boot system or perhaps running either Windows or Unraid as a VM. The recent versions of Unraid are designed to provide for Windows VM's.
