Rajahal
I know, especially if it stays at the $55 price. The full ATX size does make it a bit more difficult to work with, but it should still fit in the CM 590 with no issues. However, $55 for this mobo + $40 for the Celeron 430 vs $65 for the Biostar mobo + $30 for the Sempron 140...it comes out a wash. This mobo has the distinct advantage of supporting up to 20 drives, though, so it has much more expandability options. The Biostar is microATX, so it can fit in a smaller box. So I think both boards will have their place. Quote Link to comment
queeg
I got my celeron 430 and 420 from ebay for $19 each with free shipping. Ignore the $40 ones. They sit there forever. Toss in this Kingston ram that BobPhoenix mentioned earlier and for under $80 got an unRAID system. http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-Celeron-430-SL9XN-1-80GHZ-LGA775-CPU-/130448339521?pt=CPUs&hash=item1e5f53b241 Quote Link to comment

unRaidMe
Can any LGA 775 Intel CPU be used in this motherboard? I've got one shipping to me and am now hunting for a CPU! Quote Link to comment
CornerSage
Dammit! Why did I go to sleep last night. This board would have been perfect. :'( Quote Link to comment

Seven
Looks like we'll all be using the exact same mobo pretty soon... I was thinking this exact same thing... at least we'll all know exactly what to do when someone has a problem with their motherboard! Quote Link to comment
Joe L.
Looks like it's out of stock now thanks to the unRAID locust swarm Last I looked it was back in stock, but without the extra promotional discount code. Still not bad at $55. Now it is out of stock... Good thing I'm a light sleeper. Already got the tracking number. Quote Link to comment
prostuff1
I have my tracking number also and it looks like mine has already made the trip from Memphis Tennessee to Nashville. Quote Link to comment
ohlwiler
My C2SEE enjoyed the trip from Memphis to Nashville with prostuff1's and is going to be traveling to my house in Ohio on Monday. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the thing. I'm actually thinking of upgrading my daughter's computer with it. She is using an old Dell P4. It works wonderfully as a space heater, so maybe I should wait until after Winter to do it. Quote Link to comment

I can't wait to experience the feeling of having more MBs than cases to put them in. Maybe I'll build a case from plywood. Quote Link to comment
j.metts
My delivery was scheduled for 11/1, but is showing "Out for delivery" already. I'm in the DC area and mine just had to come down from NJ. Now it is time to switch out mobo's this weekend. Quote Link to comment

Are you saying that the board supports the 533 MHz celeron processors? Or does it need to be 800 MHz? The datasheet seems to infer the later. flips Quote Link to comment

The datasheet seems to infer the later. flips Intel Celeron 420/430/440/450 all have FSB at 800Mhz and that is the slowest FSB this MB could support. You will have slight performance hit when using slower FSB because at LGA775, memory controller in Intel platform still resides at north bridge and CPU communicate with memory controller through FSB. Intel move this controller into CPU at i3/i5/i7. Quote Link to comment
flips
okay, so you would have to be in the 4XX series at least.. something like this Celeron D wouldn't work, correct? http://cgi.ebay.com/Intel-Celeron-D-325J-2-53-GHz-LGA-775-CPU-SL7TL-256-533-/280581741297?pt=CPUs&hash=item4153f99af1 Quote Link to comment

Besides this one has 84Watt max TDP compared with Celeron 4xx that has 35Watt max TDP. Quote Link to comment
prostuff1
This board will probably end up being the basis of a rebuild of my server. When the rebuild will happen is not for sure... probably after Christmas if I had to guess. I want to move my server and redo some things but need quite a few new things to do what I want to do. Have to save up and wait to see what comes from Christmas before I start redoing stuff. Quote Link to comment
papnikol
That is so annoying: I ordered 5 days ago the mobo, benefiting from this great deal. and they sent me today a mail stating that the order has become void because i used an international VISA... and now it is sold out... Quote Link to comment
BobPhoenix
The only down side is that if you try to order two you don't get double the promo off. I had to make two separate orders. Will see if I actually get two or if newegg or my bank will think it was unintentionally done twice and cancel the second. FYI. I should get both boards I ordered today on this both at 19.99 with ONE account. Just placed two orders. Quote Link to comment
