October 28, 201015 yr Hi, I finally got my hardware to setting up my first unRAID server. I try the demo version with a 2tb WD disk for the parity and a 1.5tb for the data. I have run the mem test during 12 hours without any errors. I have wait about 600 minutes for the parity drive to be up. After that I have created a user share for my movie. I can access it on my vista computer within the network. I can see the user share directory and it's content. But when I want to read a movie, watch the fanart.jpg, or any file on that directory. It don't work. The setting is "export read/write" so normally I can read the file without any problem. Any body have a clue ? ps : when I try to access via SMB the user share directory, with xbmc or windows, it crash with no answer. I have to kill xbmc or explorer.

I see nothing unusual in the syslog, and I could read it... (you did good capturing it... sometimes a picture is the only way)
October 28, 201015 yr Author I have try with another computer under Windows seven, and it's the same thing. I can see the directory and the files, but can't play a movie or watch a picture in those same directory.

October 28, 201015 yr Author I have deleted all the data I put in the disk1 and restart a parity control. All is fine, and I got all the green ball. But I still can't access to my files. I simply put a .jpg and a trailer.mkv in the disk1 (and users share). I have try with a computer running vista x64, another under windows 7, and also my phone (galaxy S i9000) with a SMB plugin. I can see the file, their size but can open them to actually watch them. Weird thing is if I try to read the trailer on one computer, the second one seems to loose the connexion with the unraid server. But During this time I can still access to the http setting of the server. I have put a password on the root account (can't create another account, it's the free version). October 28, 201015 yr Author It works !! I just forgot to disable the integrated NIC. Now I have put the d-link 10/100 and it works. I'm happy But I will certainly check tomorrow in some store if I can find that d-link 10/100/1000 to get a better transfer rate. thanks !
