WorriedAboutDataLoss
HELP!! I had a disk go bad on my server (disk 5 marked with an X and contents emulated). I was running dual parity and for some reason (read BRAIN F**T) I stopped the array, replaced the bad diskl with the Parity 2 disk and started the array again thinking I will go back to single parity and have the disk 5 rebuilt. BUT after restarting the array it hasn't started rebuilding the disk and still shows disk 5 as X with contents emulated. Attaching the server logs here. Any help appreciated! Thanks! mediatower-diagnostics-20190723-1928.zip Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
Start rebuilding disk5, current disk5 looks fine but there are a lot of CRC errors, this is usually a bad cable, though they could be old errors. Quote Link to comment
WorriedAboutDataLoss
Should I just start a new parity check with write corrections to disk? I don't see any option to rebuild data on a disk and disk 5 still shows with a red X instead of a blue dot. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You can't do a parity check with single parity and a disabled disk, re-enable the disk. Quote Link to comment
