Keep older container if new compile fails

If I am editing the settings on a container, if I mess something up, ideally the old version of the container would be retained. 
 

even better if the old version and my edited version are both there so I don’t have to start from scratch.

Do you know you can create a copy of your container? Just change the container name (e.g. if Plex is your main working one then just use Plex-test for your test one) and you can do whatever you need to test (and certainly compare test version vs working version) and once done, just edit the working one with the new working test config. I have done that many times.
