Separate vlan for home automation/IoT

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I’m new to unRAID and would appreciate any help to point me in the right direction.

I’m currently running a home automation platform (Home Assistant) in a Docker container on unRAID.  After searching the internet, I have a general idea of how to set up VLANs on my Ubiquiti UniFi networking devices.  I’m trying to figure out what I need to do on the unRAID side to segregate my home automation platform and associated devices on to a separate VLAN from my main network.  For example, on the unRAID server should I use two network cards to separate my main network from the home automation network/VLAN?  Or, is there a suggested way to segregate the VLANs using one network card on the unRAID server?

Thanks!
