August 2, 20196 yr Searched high and low and could not find a post with the same issue but here we go... MoBo: Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming CPU: AMD Ryzen 2700 This CPU has no integrated graphics so BIOS does not even have the option to select iGPU as primary video output source. This mobo gives you the option to select primary video out on PCIe Slot 1, 2 or 3. I have my GTX 970 in slot 1 (for 16x connectvity) and a GT 710 in slot 3. Did this as the mobo has slot 1 as 16x but if slot 2 is populated, both slot 1 and 2 will run at 8x so I chose slot 3 for the GT 710. I have selected video out on slot 3 and works perfectly fine as I can get the BIOS plus the UNRAID console up on that video output. Funnily enough when I select the GTX 970 for my VM, it boots but no video out on the 970. Confirmed BIOS is still stating primary video out is on the 710 and video there is working great. Just nothing on the 970. Tried all options for PCIe ACS Override under the VM Manager with all having the same result. Any ideas? Edited August 2, 20196 yr by jcarreiro21 Misspelled
August 2, 20196 yr If you check the log on the vm does it say somthing along the lines of unknown pci header type 127? if so.. 2 possible fixes 1 roll your bios back to one pre AGESA 0.0.0.72 or there was a new bios for your board yesterday which has abb at the end try those. Also just checking you have the bios rom file from tech power up listed in the xml? I’m lead to believe with 2 gpu you don’t need it but i has to put it on mine to get it working so you might too
August 2, 20196 yr Author It would only give me that error if I were to set VLC as primary and the 970 as secondary. No matter what changes are made after that, only a reboot will correct the error. I will try the BIOS update and see how that goes. Will reply shortly I have tried applying a rom file but have the same issue as the monitor not detecting any signal from the 970
August 2, 20196 yr Author As soon as I apply a rom file I get that error "unknown pci header type 127" Error is persistent after removing the rom path so a reboot more than likely is required now
August 3, 20196 yr AMD bios bug https://community.amd.com/thread/241650 I hear there is some new "ABB" version bios being released that maybe fixes this.
August 3, 20196 yr Author @helin0x I tried the most recent BIOS version F42a and no joy. Also tried going back to F30 and same issue. Going back to F6 and going to try that now as the BIOS is currently downgrading to F6 @david279 Thanks for the for this thread! Tried the ABB BIOS for my board version F42a and dooes not fix the issue for me. Going back to a January 2019 BIOS now to try that
August 3, 20196 yr Damn shame. My gaming 5 x370 has been a champ on this F25 since forever. I would probably buy another motherboard before i would try to update it. Been a mess.
August 3, 20196 yr Author @helin0x @david279 Well jumping back to good old F6 from January 2019 has fixed the issue!! 970 passes on to the VM just fine in slot 1 while the 710 is used for UNRAID in slot 3 Thanks for the tips!

Been a mess. No guarantee that new hardware isnt affected! I've had an x570 board and 3900x sat in my basket waiting for confirmation that it's all fixed since launch, if it gets to September I'll swap it to an 3950x and wait for confirmation of a full fix. The kernel fixes coming out are only for AMD GPUs and @SpaceInvaderOne suggested that its believed the ABB issues are only for AMD cards, so not sure if anyone is working on a fix for Nvidia
