November 1, 201015 yr I been running a Unraid Box for almost3 weeks now. No problem at all. I have UnMenu installed, did a parity check in the beginning without errors. I have 2 shares and i can access both without problem. This morning i tried to get some files from the server and couldn't get the IP address to work. I also can't telnet the box. DOes anyone have any idea what is the problem? Would be possible that unmenu start the monthly parity check and that makes the data / server inaccessible? (is nov 1st here) What can i do? Should i wait? Shut down the box?? I have no idea if the server is doing something now or just idle. Thx

It works just fine while doing parity checks. If your system log filled the server can crash when it runs out of memory... or, you could just need to reboot your router. What happens when you try to log in on the system console? Joe L.
November 1, 201015 yr Author i run the server headless so i can only try telnet now. Said unable to connect to remote host. I restart the router and swith and still the same result. I still have internet connection in all the network so router & switch are working fine.
November 1, 201015 yr funny thing fro me as well. sever has been running fully automated for a few weeks now I just tried to connect to my http:DynDns:port to server and got connection refused, tried to telnet via putty and same thing, yet my SABnzbd and Sickbeard and up and running and I can connect to them. im going to shut it down tonight when I get off work, install the new locking sata cables I bought. I do not think its cable related. log file will tell all, but at the moment I can't get one. sorry to thread jack just I just found it odd that I too was unable to connect to my sever as well. I thought my work found me out and blocked the telet, but I can't connect via my moto Droid as well. -=Jason=-
November 1, 201015 yr should i just shut down the server and restart it? What are your other alternatives? You could try a momentary press of the power button. if unRAID is listening to the ACPI event handler, it might shut down cleanly, if none of the disks are busy. Otherwise, does it answer to a "ping" ? If not, I think a power cycle might be your only alternative. There is a huge benefit to not running headless. (You don't need to keep the monitor tuned on, but it can be really nice in situations like this if you can turn it on)

(You don't need to keep the monitor tuned on, but it can be really nice in situations like this if you can turn it on) no result with the ping button. I did press the restart button. Now ping works and i can log in the web interface. The main page (//tower/main) shows all the disk mounted and now is running a parity check (maybe the monthly parity check?) Initially showed a estimated time of 1200 min and now went down to 520 mins that is similar to my last parity check. Also shows 1 Sync Error (corrected) under unmenu main tab. Syslog attached. I guess now i just have to wait to the parity sync end right? SysLog.txt
November 1, 201015 yr Wait for it to end, and don't be surprised if more errors show up. Since you had to hard restart the server there are probably some things that were in the reiserFS journal that are going to cause differences from what unRAID knows about.
November 1, 201015 yr Author ok..ill be back here in or 10 more hours to report. Thanks for the help guys
November 2, 201015 yr Author Ok, parity sync is done and did find 12 errors. All the same except at the end. I attach de Syslog, not sure if the last errors is something to be worried or it's normal since i restarted the server with the reset button in the case. Seems like everything is working normal and under the main tab shows as parity valid. Anything to be worried about? Syslog_Parity_Sync.txt

November 2, 201015 yr run a parity check again and if nothing changes you should be ok, if it does find some more errors then you have some problems somewhere. RAM timing, PSU, motherboard going bad, etc.
