Hello, I am currently using an HP DL580 G7 with a HP D2600 disk shelf attached to it using an HP H221 HBA now my question is in case of a power down what do I have to battery protect as I am hesitant over connecting the disk shelf to the UPS as it has no automatic shutdown will there be any problems if I do not connect it to the UPS.

Basically, you need to protect the entire Unraid server from a power outage until the server is shutdown.  So, you need to protect any HD disks from a power outage (Am I correct in assuming that are HD's in a 'Disk Sheaf'?) until the server is shutdown. Otherwise, you risk data corruption because the data write caches may not be empty!  Do you have to turn the power off-and-on separately to both units?  Is there no signaling between them?
