interwebtech
I currently have the LSI Logic LSI00244 SAS 9201-16i 16-Port 6Gb/s SAS/SATA Controller Card. I am looking at the LSI Logic 05-25703-00 SAS 9305-16i 16-Port 12Gb/s SAS/SATA Controller Card as a possible upgrade. I have all 16 ports occupied up with a mixture of Seagate, WD & HGST 8TB drives (2x 6TB too) consisting of dual 8TB parity and 15 data drives. Will I see any improvement in throughput speed (especially parity checks) with the newer card? Edited August 9, 2019 by interwebtech Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Not with SATA3/SAS2 devices, you might if it's connected to an LSI SAS3 expander and/or are using SAS3 SSDs. 1 Quote Link to comment
interwebtech
Thanks. Saved me the hassle of swapping it out. Quote Link to comment
