New Nic card not working

Featured Replies

Hi, I added an extra dual nic card. Followed the youtube video on adding append vfio-pci.ids=8086:105e initrd=/bzroot to the flash drive.

Created a sophos firewall VM and ticked following devices to use.

Other PCI Devices:

Intel 82571EB/82571GB Gigabit Ethernet Controller D0/D1 (copper applications) | Ethernet controller (28:00.0)
Intel 82571EB/82571GB Gigabit Ethernet Controller D0/D1 (copper applications) | Ethernet controller (28:00.1)

Try to start the VM and getting this error:

internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor: 2019-08-11T09:37:28.149444Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=28:00.0,id=hostdev0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x5: vfio 0000:28:00.0: failed to setup container for group 15: failed to set iommu for container: Operation not permitted

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Played about with the settings and managed to get the network card and the additional dual nic to appear when you click on unraid information panel but when you select it in the VM, I still get the same error.

Anything else I can try?

Tried moving the card to a different slot and still same error. I had this card working on a previous unraid machine using pfsense VM without any issues. Just cant figure out why it will not work on this one.
