Pre-clearing slower on one drive

Featured Replies

???Hey everyone,

I am attempting to build my first unraid box that I just got in the mail yesterday and seem to be stuck.  First of all I jumped the gun when I booted into unraid and added all three 2tb ears drives to the array without the pins installed.

I formated the two data drives and ran parity sync for the third, all of this finished after about 8 hours until I noticed that I did not install the pins.  I stopped the array, installed pins and turn the server back on only to get a bunch of errors before it came on completely.  Once on I was unable to start the array or do anything else for that matter.

I proceed't to start from scratch again this time following the instructions completely.

So here I am now:  I ran the pre-clear script on all drives (did not pre-clear previously) and it seems to be running correctly although the drive that was initially set a parity drive seems to be taking longer, here's a snap shot of the current process.

Is there a reason why the first drive (old parity drive) would be running so slow? is it because it was not formated like the two data drives or could it be defective.

Too soon to tell.  Let the preclears finish, then report the results here.  We'll let you know if we see anything fishy.
