August 16, 20196 yr I have a Dell R510 I want to use with Unraid. I know the Perc6 cannot be flashed so can someone point me in the direction of what I should be getting for a new controller card for this server. And do I need to get new cables as well?

Below is what I put into my R710 this was turn key just put it in and go but not in the slot that the perc6i was in I understood that it is proprietary and the card won't work properly you do need breakout cables but they are cheap enough https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-H310-6Gbps-SAS-HBA-w-LSI-9211-8i-P20-IT-Mode-for-ZFS-FreeNAS-unRAID/162834659601?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
August 16, 20196 yr You could grab a Dell H310 on eBay and flash it to IT mode, just make sure it has a low profile bracket which you will probably need for your rackmount server.

October 10, 20214 yr This worked for me.... You can go into the PERC configuration (Ctrl-R) during boot, and configure each physical drive as an individual Virtual Disk type Raid 0 and Unraid will see the disks individually without needing to flash anything or replace the card.

Not the recommended approach.
