IPv4 address not set

Recommended Posts

I'm running into an issue where I can't get Unraid to bind to an IP address. Everything worked just fine earlier today, but I moved the drives and flash drive to a new machine, ran into some issues, so I moved the drives and flash drive back to my previous working machine. When I booted up the machine after moving everything back, I couldn't get it to bind to an IP address. I use UnFi gear and "forgot" my old machine just before I booted up the new machine that wasn't working properly. I didn't allocate the IP to another machine, so I just re-assigned it back to my old Unraid box. I did try booting with no IP address assigned, but it still wouldn't bind to an IP address.

If it helps, I have tried using a network.cfg from an older diagnostics report when it was working. I've also tried deleting the network.cfg, but wasn't able to get a new one to generate on startup by just starting up the server. I also have three network interfaces on my machine, two fiber ports and one Ethernet port. I've always used the Ethernet port and have tried two different cables and two different ports in my switch with each cable.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, I'd really appreciate it!

Usually a hardware problem. Make sure all pins in the ports are aligned and cables are fully plugged.

Thanks for the quick reply! I took a look at the port just to be sure, the pins are aligned and straight. I also see the activity lights on the port lighting up when I plug in an Ethernet cable cable.
