Ingelberg
New to this whole server thing, but trying to learn. So please bear with me. So bought a old HP DL380 G7 SFF, from a company that resells old company hardware. Bought a drive that was compatible according to (http://dascomputerconsultants.com/HPCompaqServerDrives.htm). But after installing unRaid on the USB and everything was running, I tried to assign the disk, but it didn't show up. Tried most things by this point. Looked in iLo and the disk shows up. Couldn't find any disks in the BIOS (clicked everywhere). Tried running updates, changing bays and tried running freenas instead. Read a post were they said you should enable AHCI, but can't find the post or how to enable it. If that even is the problem. Anybody know what to do? Help would be appreciated, thanks!! Squid
Not the real expert, but I believe you either have to enable Display world-wide-name in device ID in Settings - Display Settings or install the Dynamix SCSI Devices Plugin Quote Link to comment
Ingelberg
Could only set it to automatic. Rebooted, nothing. Installed the plugin on a SD card and rebooted and nothing. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Looks like a controller issue, make sure it's using latest firmware, or better yet don't use a raid controller, use an HBA. Quote Link to comment
Ingelberg
Running the latest firmware. Any tips on HBA cards? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/312702031611 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132448127476 Something like this? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Any LSI with a SAS2008/2308/3008/3408 chipset in IT mode, e.g., 9201-8i, 9211-8i, 9207-8i, 9300-8i, 9400-8i, etc and clones, like the Dell H200/H310 and IBM M1015, these latter ones need to be crossflashed. Quote Link to comment
