November 2, 201015 yr Please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't RocketRAID cards typically not work with unRAID?
November 2, 201015 yr Author Please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't RocketRAID cards typically not work with unRAID? I do not care if they work or not in Unraid as it takes a x4 PCIe slot but the least expensive on Ebay is over $100 - so you probably can offload it easy to the performance minded guys to run 4x SSD or what not (and in the process decrease your cost )
November 2, 201015 yr Selling it is definitely an option. However, the SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 also takes a PCIe x4 slot, so I'm not sure what your point there is... Still, sell this card for a bit over $100 and then put that money towards the SuperMicro card - that's usin' your noggin!

My point is even if it works in Unraid it still wastes x4 slot for only 4 ports (and normally you do not have that many x4 or bigger slots) And if you want to get over $100 you may wait a looong time - I personally will settle for $60 net so you can have Norco 4224 for $350 at your door for example. But I am not biting yet...as I feel the better deals are yet to come.
November 3, 201015 yr But I am not biting yet...as I feel the better deals are yet to come. Agreed. I just finished my 4220 (which was on newegg special a week or so ago for a GREAT price) build and am already thinking about my next one (4224)!
November 8, 201015 yr Please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't RocketRAID cards typically not work with unRAID? I have a Rocket Raid 2240 in an unRaid server I have been running since Sept 09' With no problems. Now that said Murphy is going to come and teach me a lesson. I would however rather have something like the sata2mv8's instead. Cc-
