Struck
Hi I am having trouble adding a netowrk card onto my unraid box. I run an unraid 6.7.2 box with a Xeon on an Asrock X99 Extreme4 motherboard. The machine is running without a graphics card, thus headless. The systemhas been running great for about two years, and gave received multiple upgrades since first build. Now i tried to upgrade the system with a dedicated 10Gbit network card, but suddently the system will not boot. I put a dedicated graphics card in, and it booted without a hitch. But once i remove the graphics card unraid won´t boot. Anyone have experienced the same issue? The network card is a Mellanox Connect-X 2. Quote Link to comment
Squid
Catch-22. You can't tell why it's not booting without having a video card installed. Only thing that possibly pops into my head is In the BIOS disable stop on all errors or Move the Mellanox to a different slot Edited August 18, 2019 by Squid Quote Link to comment

Only thing that possibly pops into my head is In the BIOS disable stop on all errors or Move the Mellanox to a different slot Yeah it's a bit of trouble. I realized that the mellanox added a secondary boot option onto the boot priorities, so i tried disabling that option, so only the flash device is used, but no luck with this either. I have searched for the option to disable stop on all errors, but have no luck finding such options. Maybe you have an idea on where to find it? I have tried two different PCI-E slots, with no luck. Struck
I tried switching the Mellanox ConnectX 2 card out with an Intel X540-T2 card, but experience the same issue. For now i will have to waste the extra power needed for a dedicated graphics card. Am using a passively cooled GT 210. Quote Link to comment
Vr2Io
Pls try turn on CSM, if need UEFI boot, just set CSM-UEFI only, otherwise turn on legacy. Then config correct bootable device order and remove the GPU. Edited August 21, 2019 by Benson Quote Link to comment
