Extremely slow performance with Dockers apps when moving files onto Array

Featured Replies

I am getting my new Unaid server setup and moving files on to it from my Qnap using a Qnap task to move the files onto a remote SMB share, the issue I am seeing is when I move files my Docker applications slow to a halt. Is this normal and is there anyway to limit the resources used when moving files. For the Docker applications they are running on an SSD cache drive and on the Share that I am moving files to the Cache mode is turned off so I am really confused why this is happening, I am also running on a Gig NIC, I will also attach the Diagnostics. The CPU is sitting at 33% usage when moving files, really confused where the bottleneck is.

Except, your system share, where your docker image lives, is currently on disk1, and it is set to cache-no. And disk1 is the disk initially chosen for writes to the array.

  1. Set your system share to cache-prefer.
  2. Delete and recreate your docker image (Settings - Docker) so it will be recreated on cache where it belongs.
  3. Use the Previous Apps feature on the Apps page which will reinstall your dockers as they were.

Current settings are

1. Share appdata is Only Cache drive

2. Share system is now set to prefer cache

3. Removed all docker applications and reinstalled using previous applications

Started the move again and Apps are still slow. New Diag file attached

I missed that step, was able to get it create the new Docker image on the cache and everything is running great now. Thank you for the help.

Just want to say, thanks for posting this.  I'm having this issue right now. (amazingly 2 hours after you)

I can replace step 2 by moving it with Krusador, yes?
