Xaero
I am partially colorblind. I have difficulty with similar shades (such as more green blues, next to greens, or more blue greens next to blues.) The default Web Console color scheme makes reading the output of ls almost impossible for me: I either have to increase the font size to a point that productivity is hindered drastically, or strain my eyes to make out the letters against that background. A high contrast option would be great. Or, even better, the option to select common themes like "Solarized" et al would be great. Perhaps even, the ability to add shell color profiles for the web console. For now I use KiTTY when I can - and I've added a color profile to ~/.bash_profile via my previously suggested "persistent root" modification. Also, worth mentioning here:https://github.com/Mayccoll/Gogh Gogh has a very extensive set of friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and well-contrasting color profiles ready-to-go. Edit: Also worth noting that currently the web terminal doesn't source ~/.bashrc or ~/.bash_profile, and this results in the colors being "hardcoded" (source ~/.bashrc to the rescue) Edit2: Additionally, the font is hard coded. If we are fixing the web terminal to be a capable, customizable platform - this would also be high on the list of things to just do. Edited August 19, 2019 by Xaero 3 Quote Link to comment
tmchow
The default color theme has always bothered me. I’m not color blind so can’t even imagine how hard it is for you. Quote Link to comment
JasonJoel
I would LOVE for the default colors to change / be able to be changed!!! The green back highlighted text is impossible to read. Edited August 19, 2019 by JasonJoel Quote Link to comment
cinereus
Why isn't it possible to change this? I have installed zsh and oh-my-zsh and then installed a Solarized theme. The only thing that hasn't changed is the fg/bg colours for directories. Quote Link to comment
RobertP
I would also like to see more options in the color schemes. The alternating line shading is difficult for me (white/almost_white or black/almost_black is not enough contrast for my eyes to follow them across the screen.) Quote Link to comment
-Daedalus
+1 My eyesight isn't great, and I also hate that colour combo. Quote Link to comment
graphius
I have very good eyes, and a very good monitor, the terminal colour scheme is just plain hard to read. Quote Link to comment
TheJJJ42
+2 I copy & paste the text to a text document to read it. :-( Quote Link to comment
Reytak
I followed the instructions from Ford Prefect posted October 22, 2020 here and it worked for me, now just plain readable text without unreadable highlighting. https://forums.unraid.net/topic/86767-colors-when-on-unraid-console/?do=findComment&comment=905507 Edited June 12, 2021 by Reytak Quote Link to comment
xthursdayx
I'd also love to see the shell (bash, zsh, whatever), profile (.bashrc, .zshrc, etc), and fonts be more customizable as well... I've got some scripts running that help with this, but it'd be nice if was a little more easily customizable. Quote Link to comment
