I recently figured out that my Machine is drawing more power when a Windows VM (With GPU Pass through) is shutdown than while it is running, further googling lead me to believe that is because the graphics drivers in Windows allow the GPU to attain a low power state and when the Windows VM shuts down the GPU is no longer able to stay at the lower power state. I only use the Windows VM at most a couple dozen hours a week and I don't want to run the VM all the time because it would eat into other system resources. Is there a way I can get the GPU to go to a low power state without running a VM.
