unRAID 6.7.2 Mover not working

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

If this has been covered somewhere else and is buried please link if you can.

Diagnostics added to the post also

So the issue appears to be that the mover isn't actually moving stuff over to the array.

The cache disk is an older 120GB SSD and is not in a cache pool. I intend to upgrade this cache disk later next week.

After doing some downloading, I noticed the cache disk data wasn't being moved over to the array.

I tried to manually invoke the mover (which is scheduled to run hourly), and whereas the button would turn grey previously, it just changes back to orange.

I enabled mover logging and I can see that it starts and ends really fast, and that it skips the docker stuff which should be normal, but the downloads folder is still full of items that should now be on the array.

I have stopped the array and rebooted the server which did not resolve the issue

The only change was I added more ram to the server yesterday at around 8pm, but the mover process worked after that for a bit. I noticed it stopped running as intended around 11pm last night.

Haven't looked at diagnostics in detail, but it seems pretty obvious that you don't understand the Use cache settings.

There is Help in the webUI. You can toggle Help on/off for the entire webUI using Help (?) on the top bar. Or you can toggle Help for a specific setting by clicking on the text label for the setting.

Long story short. Cache-prefer means try to keep the data on cache, and if any of it is on the array, try to move it to cache. Cache-yes is the setting you want for your downloads share to get it to move from cache to the array.

More details about the Use cache settings are in this FAQ:

After you get your downloads and other shares moved to the array we can take a look at your system share and try to get it on cache where it belongs.

Also, post new diagnostics after you get those shares moved so I can better check what still needs to be worked on.
