November 4, 201015 yr Does anyone know where I can buy extra 4 in 3 HDD cages for this case. I want the same one that was included with it, not this newer model http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817993002. I was sure I saw it just last week somewhere but now I can't find it. Also if anyone has one they are not using and wants to sell?
November 4, 201015 yr You can just remove the black portion of it to use the CM590 filter/grating and it'll look like the one that comes with the 590. That is what I did.
November 4, 201015 yr There is a used drive bay up on ebay with a starting bid of $14 + $7.50 for shipping (to my place in Ohio). It is a relisted item. No one bid on it the first time arround. No, it is not my listing. Just noticed it while look for a deal on a full 590 case.
November 4, 201015 yr Author Thanks Eroz that's good to know. I think I still like the original one a little better but if I can't find it I'll go this route. Yea Greybeard I saw that one too but thought it was a little expensive, $9.00 shipped to me in Florida makes it $23. Right now I've sent an email to Cooler Master to ask if they will sell me one, and also to the folks at Lime Technology to see if they had any left over from their server builds that they would sell me. Hopefully I will hear back from one of them.
November 5, 201015 yr bdolnik, you may want to reconsider. I have both and the newegg one you cited is superior to the stock cage that comes with the CM590. What makes the STB-3T4-E3-GP 4-in-3 better is that it has a drawer/floor underneath each drive slot. This makes it easy to slide drives in and out, while securely separating each drive bay with a divider. The stock CM590 cage does not have this. The drives just hang in open space. It's difficult to get them screwed in because they keep floating out of alignment. As eroz said, the black faceplate on the STB-3T4-E3-GP 4-in-3 is detachable and the cage will fit in the CM590 without a problem. Build quality is also better.
November 5, 201015 yr I'll second the vote for the newer cage. It's also aluminum IIRC, and doesn't require the rubber grommets. I like to leave the face on, because then I can remove the cage without removing the front panel.
November 8, 201015 yr Author LOL, wouldn't you know I would be the one to like the spacing and rubber grommets. Anyway, I haven't heard back from the folks at Lime Tech or Cooler Master so I guess I may not have a choice but to order the newer one. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm really surprised I didn't hear back from Lime. They must have a ton of them laying around since they were replacing them with the hot swap trays on the systems they built for sale.

Same here, and when I asked CM about buying another one like the one that came with the CM590, they also just said to get the separate one. I didn't realize that that is supposed to be a newer one; is that one shipping now with the 590s as well? I would like the rubber grommets myself as well, and the spacing so far has not been an issue for me. Also, those new cages cannot be as easily screwed into the case as the original one, IIRC. Would have to check again, but that was also one of the things I didn't like about the new one, which right now is unsecured in the case. -Christian

You could screw the new cage into the case if you like. It has the same screw hole placement. The CM590 has the little retainer tabs to make it tool free, and that works for both cages.
November 8, 201015 yr Author For all those offering the older one in trade for a newer one. The newer ones are $20 at Amazon with free shipping. So I'll pay you $20 if you can ship the old one to me in Florida, AS LONG as you also have the 16 drive screws that came with it. They are the ones with the extended smooth shaft to fit through the grommet. I only need one right now. Thanks!
November 8, 201015 yr I'd also be happy to exchange my newer one (original case and all) versus the older one with the rubber grommets etc. Complete only, of course. -Christian
