Will this server with 2x Adaptec 71605 SAS/SATA 6Gb/s PCIe Gen3 RAID Kit work fine with unRaid?

I'm about to build a file storage server with 12x HDD Drives and just want to be sure.

I'm with you. Anyone out there use this card? It's cheaper than the LSI 9201-16i and has higher bandwidth (PCIe 3.0 x8 vs PCIe 2.0 x8).

Why chosing a RAID controller?

Unraid works best with HBA controllers.

I am using Adaptec HBA 1000 series (supported from Unraid 6.4+) and HBA 1100 series (only supported from Unraid 6.8)

 

I don't really know "why".

 

It was an option since the server is refurbished and seemed the better option to me since it was 50& more that the other listed.

 

And works fine also.
