Rajahal
I visit Newegg multiple times per day while using these forums. Not just to shop, but also to look up tech specs, link to hardware in my posts, etc. Here's a few tips and tricks I've figured out along the way. Feel free to add your own! When searching: Enter SASLP to go straight to the SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 card. Enter 8087 to go straight to the list of all the various SAS and SAS breakout cables. Then sort that list by Lowest Price to get them in the following order - Reverse breakout, SAS-SAS, Forward breakout. Enter CM590 to go straight to the COOLER MASTER Centurion 590. CM 590 (with the space) works too. Enter 4220 and the Norco 4220 is the first result. Enter Norco 4220 to go straight to it. 4224 is also similar. Enter 140 and the AMD Sempron 140 will be the first result. When linking in forum posts: You can drop everything from the ampersand on and get shorter, cleaner looking links: From this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816133033&cm_re=8087-_-16-133-033-_-Product'>http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816133033&cm_re=8087-_-16-133-033-_-Product to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816133033 If I think of more, I'll add them here. unRaidMe
If you use Chrome or Firefox, you can set up a custom keyword to quickly do searches on newegg Create a new bookmark (in Firefox) or "Edit Search Engines" (in Chrome) Write a descriptive name For the keyword, put in the shortcut you want to use to access newegg. For example, I use "ne" Set as the URL: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&Description=%s&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=100 When you want to search newegg, go to the search bar and type "ne searchQuery" Whatever you type as the searchQuery gets replaced where the "%s" is in the URL. The URL I use sorts the search results by name and lists 100 items per page. I make similar bookmarks for a lot of sites like Amazon, dealnews, facebook, etc... even sites I visit frequently that aren't searches, just leave out the "%s" in the URL. Makes browsing a lot faster and less frustrating while hunting for links or going to a site's homepage. Link to comment
