Unstable system and slow drives

Featured Replies

Hey.

After I changed the motherboard, CPU and RAID card, the system has become unstable and needs to be restarted in order to respond and the transfer speed to and from Unraid has been slow.

In the log I can see this error coming up many times

"ata19.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen"

I've changed all the sata cables and plugged in a new 750w power supply.

I've attached a diagnostics dump and System log.

I hope you can help with thoughts in a direction It would be appreciated.

Looks like a controller issue since multiple disk connections are affected.

I have a "DeLOCK SATA PCIe x2 89384" and o don't see if I can update the firmware?

Does the controller card have a Marvel Controller ?

It's a JMicron chipset which *should* be fine.  However, it uses Port Multipliers to get the 10 Sata Ports out of the controller.  Port Multipliers, even under ideal circumstances suck and are trouble prone.

Thank you very much for the answers. If "just" is a controller, then it's something to do. I don't know if it's against the rules. But which controller would you suggest?

If you need that many ports then definitely something LSI based
