September 9, 20196 yr Community Expert Hi, I'm after something simple to monitor my servers/dockers (all individual ip's). It just has to email me if it goes down (stops responding). I had a fingbox doing all this but recently moved all wifi devices and iot stuff to its own vlan on pfsense so lost my presense detection and had to move the fingbox to the vlan net so presense works again, but then i lost the server uptime checks as diff lan. So - any plugins/dockers I can use that can do this? On pfsense all packages I can find seem to be for network usage, not uptime. i dont want it hosted on another device but could be open to a vm if no luck with dockers? September 9, 20196 yr Not self hosted but check out Uptimerobot may be able to help. What I use and prefer. https://uptimerobot.com/Unless services are only internal and in that even disregard lolSent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
September 9, 20196 yr Author Community Expert Ta - i currently use uptime robot to check my internet facing systems yes. But this is for local lan devices, and not connectable from an internet hosted service. After continuing my research, I have cacti docker installed and i am playing with that now. I then have a pfsense 'fake' gateway pointing at the cacti docker to alert on that. Cacti is way more complicated that I need - so my fallback plan may be about 20 'fake' gateways in pfsense - not pretty - but accomplishes what i need for a simple ping up/down.
September 9, 20196 yr Author Community Expert I now also have a pfsense 'fake' gateway pointing at the UnRaid server to alert on that. Think i have this covered this way unless there is a better way. Note - have to add a gateway group with the one fake monitor in it to have pfsense actually email the alerts.
