Parity drive disable - SMART Info

Featured Replies

Noticed that the parity drive has disabled,  The SMART info has ;-

"exiting. To continue, add one or more '-T permissive' options."

In terminal,

smartctl -T permissive -s on /dev/sdd

A mandatory SMART command failed: exiting. To continue, add one or more '-T permissive' options.

It's a WD RED 3TB -probably 3years old, and before I noticed the problem, the normally quiet server was clunking a bit.

Is it likely that the disk has gone and "run up the curtain and joined the choir eternal"?

That suggests the disk dropped offline, reboot/power cycle and post new diags, but also save and post the ones before rebooting.
