September 17, 20196 yr Hello, I think I unseated a disk but can't be sure there isn't a problem with it. I tried recreating the array once unraid recognised the disk again but unraid seemed to hang after a few hours so i am back at square one but with no option to rebuild the array. I am currently running a Read Check as that was the only option available. Quick smart test on the drive was clean. Diagnostics attached. Next step? Thank you. server-diagnostics-20190917-1245.zip
September 17, 20196 yr Community Expert It appears to be a disk problem, though this type of errors can sometimes be intermittent, you should run an extended SMART test.

September 17, 20196 yr Author At one point unraid recognised the disk and there was no red cross, just the orange triangle so I just assumed it would work if I selected the 'missing' disk and started the array but it started rebuilding instead. Sorry if my terminology is a bit off i can't remember exactly what the messages were. In the pas when a disk went missing I rebooted the server, it showed up, i selected it and then the array started as normal. I just assumed the same would happen as there were no disk errors I could see.

September 17, 20196 yr Author Yes, that is correct. Extended smart test is taking a while... 80%. I'll report back tomorrow. Thanks for the assistance so far.
September 18, 20196 yr Author Extended smart test completed without error, see attached. What next? Thank you. server-smart-20190917-2202.zip
September 18, 20196 yr Community Expert Rebuild on top of the old disk, then keep an eye on it, any more errors in the near future you should replace it.
September 18, 20196 yr Author Ok, how do I rebuild? At the moment I only get the option to do a read check which i have started. Will the rebuild option appear after that has completed?
September 18, 20196 yr Community Expert https://wiki.unraid.net/Troubleshooting#Re-enable_the_drive Make sure emulated disk is mounting correctly before rebuilding on top.
September 18, 20196 yr Author Fantastic, thank you very much. Fingers crossed it doesn't crash this time.
