6.7.2 New Build - Drive Keeps Stopping

Featured Replies

First time unraid user here. I am having trouble getting my setup started. The drive, which has been working great before a format, has become disabled with a red x beside the drive. I get the notification that the drive is disabled, followed by an error saying 3 of my drives have read errors.

I tried running xfs -L on the drive and re-seated the drive and completed a rebuild and parity check. After that, the drive becomes disabled again. I have completed a read-check on all the drives (except drive 2) and all came back with 0 read errors.

I then took an error report (see attached).

I have no important data on any of the drives.

I believe drive 2,3 and 4 are all in the same external hard drive enclosure. If this is a controller issue, how do I go about fixing it? I have tried using a different usb port for the enclosure.

Thanks in advance.

The syslog show USB disconnecting and then problems start occurring.

USB drives are not recommended for array drives as the USB connection tends to be unreliable and Unraid does not handle drives disconnecting unexpectedly.

Thanks itimpi,

I will try to connect the enclosure via e-sata. I'll update the thread in an hour and let you know how it goes.

Thanks again for the help
