September 27, 20196 yr Community Expert Hi All I have decided to try and replace my 'TV' media centre with a dedicated VM running on my UnRAID server... The server is an HP Microserver which has an E3-1230v2 CPU. But it only has very poor inbuilt video card and only 1 PCI-E slot which I need for my Quad DVB-T tuner card... so I thought I'd take a chance and spent £60 on a USB3 to 4k HDMI converter to deal with the video. So, I have created a new Windows 10 VM with 2 x 2-core CPUs and 4Gb RAM. All is set up and working well on an RDP connection... but when I plug the USB3 -> HDMI converter into one of the USB3 ports on the server and try to boot the VM up, it wont boot and shows an execution error. If I connect it to a USB2 port it boots up and works - but the video playback is laggy. I am guessing its because of the fact that USB2 is so much slower than USB3. I am hoping that if I can get it passing through on USB3 it will work at full speed. I have included the error message... can anyone offer any advice? Thanks in advance.

Instead of passing the device through to the VM, I passed the USB 3 bus through and now its hot pluggable within the VM and see's the USB3->HDMI adapter correctly. If anyone finds this thread and has the same problem... take a look here;
