Upgrade to 6.7.2 doesn't mount /boot

Featured Replies

Everything has been working fine on 6.6.7.  I went through the process of making sure the system was ok to update to 6.7.2 and then upgraded.  Whenever I boot on 6.7.2 I don't have an IP address, "cannot find device bond0" and I've figured its due to UNRAID not mounting "/boot" properly or at all. If I rollback to 6.6.7, everything works fine.

Any ideas what could be going on?

Thanks

How much RAM do you have?

Are you booting from a USB2 port?

You can always check if /boot is mounted as long as you can get to the Unraid command line by using the 'df' command and seeing if there is a /boot amongst the listed devices.

If the boot device is showing it might be worth renaming the file 'config/network.cfg' on the flash drive and then rebooting to use a default configuration to see if that solves the problem.

If you want informed feedback you should post your system diagnostics zip file (obtained via Tools >> Diagnostics or by using 'diagnostics' at the Unraid command line).

I'm using USB 2

Ram 16GB

I've tried renaming the network.cfg file and letting the system create a new one but no luck

If I do the diagnostics from the command line it doesn't save to the USB drive since it doesn't mount /boot

Try putting the flash in your PC and letting it checkdisk. While there make a backup. Try again.

SO I did the diskcheck and repair and found no errors, but it did lead me to fix the problem.

I backed up the USB (I already had a few other backups).  I did a clean format and then using the same USB flash drive did a fresh install from scratch of 6.7.2 of UNRAID.  I tested this and it booted and connected to network.  I then copied the license file and config folder over from my backup to the fresh install.  Now it seems to work fine.  Thanks for the help.  Weird that 6.6.7 booted fine though and 6.7.2 wouldn't complete everything properly.

Maybe just a bad download. The reason I asked about RAM is because people trying to run with very little RAM can't complete the upgrade from the webUI and have to do it manually like you did.
