USB dead no backup HELP!

Featured Replies

Hello All,

My USB drive dried the other day and I forgot to make a backup New setup cleared all old backups and just forgot... Wont happen again!

I am not sure which drives goes where exactly.

Is there a plug-in by any chance that auto backups to cloud/ftp?

Thanks. Hopefully I can get my server back up with all my data :)

You are not alone in having this problem.  You might want to read through this thread from earlier today:

I only don't know my Disk1 and Disk 3. Could I not just assign them and do a parity check?

If you have single parity and you know what disk is your parity disk and what disks are your data disks, you can just assign the parity disk as parity and the data disks to any slot and the parity should be correct.  Order (or assignment) of data data disks is not important with single parity.  (What usually happens in these cases is that user has no idea which disk is his parity disk.  That user will have to identify which disk is the parity because assigning a data disk as parity will usually result in the loss of all of the data on that disk!)
